[Bug 429665] New: yast2 "Warning: Disk space" window stays there
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=429665 Summary: yast2 "Warning: Disk space" window stays there Product: openSUSE 11.0 Version: Final Platform: i686 OS/Version: openSUSE 11.0 Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: YaST2 AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: harun04@scheutzow.de QAContact: jsrain@novell.com Found By: --- I have 178 MByte left on disk, intentionally. Started yast2 in text mode. Went to Software. Without a try to install anything, this annoying window pops up. The first time this happens I was able to close it b ENTER key. But it reappers soon and then there is no obvious way to close it, ENTER does nothing, Alt+O does nothing. Please remove this damn thing completely. Sorry, but I consider it crazy if someone tells me that 178 MByte is low disk space! -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

This popup requires interaction and hinders progress of user's work. Make it a red info line somewhere if you feel it is so important. Give user an option to never see it again, or to adjust the size limit, if you feel it must be a popup. The warning is useful only if user wants to install something. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

I have a test system with 100 MB free disk space on '/' and 50 MB free on '/home'. When entering the package installation the warning popup appears. But it doesn't pop up again, neither if I select a package for installation nor if I want to delete one. You have mentioned that it reappears soon. Does it reappear after selecting a package? The relevant part of the changelog is as follows: - Do not create pop-up dialogs on the stack (disk space, deps), this may lead to segfault (bnc#384471) and/or the latest pop-up being always on the top (bnc#384467) -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
