Downgrading to the 10.2 yast2-qt-2.14.3-5.1 fixed it. However this appears to show a bug in zypper or libzypp: Output of "search yast2" before downgrading to the right version: i | 20070109-214654 | package | yast2-qt | 2.14.3-5 | i586 Output of "sl": 1 | Yes | Yes | YaST | 20070109-214654 | ftp://ftp.uni-erlangen.de/pub/mirrors/opensuse/distribution/10.2/repo/oss so it appears that libzypp is confused about the installed version. It is a bug that we did not specify this dependency. fix: bump libyui version, make policy to catch such mistakes.
