[Bug 850043] New: new server:php:applications:webtrees sub-project
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=850043 https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=850043#c0 Summary: new server:php:applications:webtrees sub-project Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE.org Version: unspecified Platform: Other OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Enhancement Priority: P5 - None Component: OBS Request AssignedTo: mrueckert@suse.com ReportedBy: castedo@castedo.com QAContact: adrian@suse.com Found By: --- Blocker: --- I have created, tested and am using OBS packages in my home project: https://build.opensuse.org/package/show/home:castedo/webtrees https://build.opensuse.org/package/show/home:castedo/webtrees-base for the open source genealogy PHP application "webtrees" (http://webtrees.net) I am now working with the main contributor of webtrees (Greg Roach <fisharebest@gmail.com>) to make official packages for this wonderful open source PHP application. So it's time for webtrees to have an OBS home project of its own, outside of my OBS home. I can suggest sub-project server:php:applications:webtrees but I don't have a strong opinion on where it should live. webtrees is similar to packages gallery2 and coppermine in project server:php:applications in that they are all php application for personal use to share stuff with family. server:php:applications is a natural project to put the webtrees packages in, however Greg and I would like to be able to add and change the project targets, probably add a few more packages and probably other project settings (like project meta data) that I suspect the maintainers of server:php:applications probably don't' want messed around with. My OBS account is "castedo". -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=850043 https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=850043#c2 E. Castedo Ellerman <castedo@castedo.com> changed: What |Removed |Added ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Status|NEEDINFO |NEW InfoProvider|castedo@castedo.com | --- Comment #2 from E. Castedo Ellerman <castedo@castedo.com> 2013-11-19 12:59:03 UTC --- At the moment there is no unusual project meta data that the webtrees package depends on (I've only made an rpm package for SUSE). So as the project currently is, it would be simpler to have it live in server:php:applications. However the main contributor to webtrees uses Ubuntu and will likely want to add Ubuntu as one of the distros for server:php:applications. But that is an uncertainly future. So sounds like, for now, we should just add webtrees as a package within server:php:applications. If the need arrives for unusual project meta data then we can worry about that then. The need may never arrive. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=850043 https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=850043#c5 --- Comment #5 from E. Castedo Ellerman <castedo@castedo.com> 2013-12-09 17:09:05 UTC --- Yes, this is fine. In fact for now, we can just plan on only building for SUSE distros. I think the main webtrees contributor might prefer to build on Ubuntu on launchpad. So it might be moot to add Ubuntu as a target. I am only working on and using SUSE distros at the moment. Per this discussion I am submitting package home:castedo:webtrees to server:php:applications now. Let me know if I should do something differently. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
