It is optimal for photos, but for fax it is really quite ineffective - since version 6 it has new MagickWand api, which is stable, .so versions are now handled correctly too. GraphicsMagick - based on IM 5.5.2 - 8bit by default, some optimizations - stable api Both packages can be installed together without conflicts. I think we can have both packages, since each is optimized for different tasks.
