Shotwell 14.1 from third party repositories, for example this: http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/home:/valmar73/openSUSE_12.3/x86_6... works OK. It looks like, it is a Shotwell 13.1 specific bug. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Run Shotwell 13.1. 2. Import video files. Actual Results: Shotwell hangs on import phase. A 'PHOTO Manager' hangs on Videos :)
Shotwell 14.1 from third party repositories, for example this:

Why not use the fully maintainer version in GNOME:Apps repository? That's there the versions for future openSUSE Versions are being maintained anyway. Just to be accurate, Shotwell manages, and displays videos too. We can call it, a photo and video album software. :-)
Anyway, considering shotwell being a leaf package, I'll recommend an update to 0.14.1.

I know; yet http://www.yorba.org/projects/shotwell/ never mentions Videos except for the publishing part.
We can call it, a photo and video album software. :-)
