[Bug 1197298] QEMU downstream patches break persistent binfmt registration by default
https://bugzilla.suse.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1197298 https://bugzilla.suse.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1197298#c55 --- Comment #55 from Dirk Mueller <dmueller@suse.com> --- (In reply to Dario Faggioli from comment #52)
So, I guess I've misunderstood what you meant in comment 49. What I'm going for, for now, is: - the wrapper binary is there - the links are there and points to it - qemu-binfmt-conf.sh does *not* use them by default
And I was thinking that, when the OBS patch lands, I could remove the binary and all the links.
Yes, exactly.
Is this correct?
yes
If it is, then we're talking about pretty much the same thing, and there should be no need to do the extra "temporary" step or redirecting the symlinks.
agreed. meanwhile the obs-build patches landed and should get deployed within the next few days (I expect quick deployment due to an unrelated security issue that needs urgent mitigation). So we can drop the other pieces in a week or so at least from factory. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.
