It's text mode, and it always uses 80x25. Using a wide screen display might change the proportions on the display, but it does not change the number of available lines or character cells (just count the lines in your screen shot). As far as I can tell from your screen shot, it also doesn't use a frame buffer console that changes the number of lines and/or character columns - everything plain and normal 80x25 (80x24?) text mode. It also doesn't use BIOS calls, but from what I hear it uses text fonts from the graphics card's BIOS. This might be a first hint.
