[Bug 206421] New: ZEN-updater doesn't have option to ignore (unwanted) updates
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=206421 Summary: ZEN-updater doesn't have option to ignore (unwanted) updates Product: SUSE Linux 10.1 Version: Final Platform: i686 OS/Version: SLED 10 Status: NEW Severity: Enhancement Priority: P5 - None Component: Update Problems AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: atte.nieminen@cs.helsinki.fi QAContact: jsrain@novell.com Found in SLED10 running with : zmd-7.1.1.0-39.49 zen-updater-7.1.0-51.28 The thing is that zen doesn't have an option to lock updates. I know this may sound funny, but I actually would like to ignore some updates. ZEN-updater keeps showing me that orange (!) icon that updates are available. When clicked the icon zen-updater shows updates, but from this point on user can only uncheck/check the updates. The uncheck wont help here at all, because the program can't remember this choice on next time the updater is run. There isn't an option to lock the package. By this I mean that updater would't show/check patches for that package with locked status. For example I have downloaded newest kernel-source and compiled that myself, but the kernel-default*.rpm isn't updated so the updater keeps telling me there is a kernel update available. In some cases people want to stick with the old version of some package and update others. This is just one example with this kernel thing. In the future there definitely should be some kind of "never update this package"-option in zen. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.
