[Bug 327542] New: Wrong reference to /EULA.TXT for online package licenses
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=327542 Summary: Wrong reference to /EULA.TXT for online package licenses Product: openSUSE 10.3 Version: RC 1 Platform: Other OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Installation AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: stbinner@novell.com QAContact: jsrain@novell.com Found By: Development Just doing one CD KDE install with remote repositories and am presented with all the licenses of the non-oss packages (eg flash-player). Below each license window the text "If you would like to print this license, check the EULA.txt file on the first media" is shown which is obviously wrong. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

There are no Media_1, Media_2 etc. Even if word 'media' might be correct, because 'internet media' is valid, there needn't be any second media :) Currently it seems that online-media need to be handled separately from CD/DVD media. Coolo: Is this really worth the effort? Don't we have any language specialist that could help us? I would suggest changing the wording to "check the installation repositority for EULA.txt" and leave it explicitly unclear if it's the CD or the internet. As a matter of fact I'm not even sure why the text is there at all - is printing out EULAs a human right? :) -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

This line should be part of the documentation, not of the UI. It's completely unnecessary and only polutes the screen ;( But please wait for AJ to return from vacation, perhaps he had some reasons I don't know to request this. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

I'm not sure if printing out EULAs is a human right, but it definitely should be. "Read this long crazy legaleese in this tiny window, confirm that you understand it, and BTW you can't even print it" is pretty rude. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
