[Bug 439717] New: Spanish keyboard, key '~' is no longer dead key
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=439717 Summary: Spanish keyboard, key '~' is no longer dead key Product: openSUSE 11.1 Version: Beta 3 Platform: Other OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: GNOME AssignedTo: bnc-team-gnome@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: robin.listas@telefonica.net QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: --- A year ago, I reported: Bug 339072 - After upgrade to 10.3, key '~' is a dead key ] After upgrade to 10.3 (from 10.2), in xterm under gnome, ] using the Spanish keyboard, I need to press twice the key ] '~' ([AltGr][~][~]) to get output, meaning it is now a dead ] key (as for accentuated letters, "'a" --> "á" I was told that this was a feature, not a bug. Well, it seems you have changed it again. Now that I'm used to type "~~" to get a single "~", you go and change it back to be a normal key. Is this now again another feature, a regression, a bug, what? Please, make up your minds! :-) Current configuration is: Section "InputDevice" Driver "kbd" Identifier "Keyboard[0]" Option "Protocol" "Standard" Option "XkbLayout" "es" Option "XkbModel" "pc102" Option "XkbRules" "xfree86" EndSection Previous configuration (auto) was: Section "InputDevice" Driver "kbd" Identifier "Keyboard[0]" Option "Protocol" "Standard" Option "XkbLayout" "es" Option "XkbModel" "microsoftpro" Option "XkbRules" "xfree86" EndSection -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

(if the behavior of the es layout changes, that's not a GNOME bug, but an Xorg bug...) -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

As far as I remember, the layout is 'ES', and it has changed. For the record, I prefer the current behaviour of the 11.1 keyboard to that of 10.3-11.0, which I reported as a bug and was told "I consider this a fix and not a bug/regression.". Thus, now I consider that "Bug #339072" is really solved ;-) -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

Okay, so, hmm, let's keep this bug as NEEDINFO for now :-) -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
