http://bugzilla.suse.com/show_bug.cgi?id=956690 Bug ID: 956690 Summary: openSUSE installer seems to hang during pxe Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE Distribution Version: Leap 42.1 Hardware: All OS: openSUSE 42.1 Status: NEW Severity: Major Priority: P5 - None Component: Installation Assignee: yast2-maintainers@suse.de Reporter: osynge@suse.com QA Contact: jsrain@suse.com Found By: --- Blocker: --- openSUSE user feedback while installing. While the installer is booting we get nice feedback While the openSUSE installer is downloading. /download/file_0000 /download/file_0001 /download/file_0002 /download/file_0003 /download/file_0005 We get is no noticeable progress or sign the installer is still working. You are just reporting that no visual feedback is provided, but otherwise the process works as expected. Isn't it? Assigning it to YaST Team's Scrum queue, so it gets prioritized in relation with other tasks. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.

Assigning it to YaST Team's Scrum queue, so it gets prioritized in relation with other tasks.
Exactly. This is not that the code does not function just that should you be booting from slow media, (such as NFS mounted CDROM in my case with some packet loss) you just have to wait and get no visual feedback on the first console. You get some feedback after each download if you go to the 3rd console. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.

I think this can be set as low and enhancement due to my complaint only affecting to the option: splash=silent Which basic times out and looks sweet. A better name would be: splash=bars Sorry for raising this low enhancement. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.

The openSUSE 42.1 changed to end-of-life (EOL [1]) status. As such it is no longer maintained, which means that it will not receive any further security or bug fix updates. As a result we are closing this bug. If you can reproduce this bug against a currently maintained version of openSUSE, or you can still observe it under openSUSE Leap 15.0, please feel free to reopen this bug against that version (see the "Version" component in the bug fields), or alternatively open a new ticket. Thank you for reporting this bug and we are sorry it could not be fixed during the lifetime of the release.
