Due to the machine dying I had to switch back to ext4. But I left the btrfs file systems as they were, mounting them ro for the mean time. So I was able to btrfsck them, rsync them to the current state and in turn switch back to them (mounting them rw) and in turn mounting the ext4 discs ro. I got a lot of "Old style space inode found, converting." - no problem. But now I reactivated snapshots and btrfsck complains about unresolved refs ... win@ara [1281]$ sudo btrfsck /dev/sdc7 fs tree 333 refs 4 unresolved ref root 334 dir 256 index 11 namelen 10 name .snapshots error 600 unresolved ref root 335 dir 256 index 11 namelen 10 name .snapshots error 600 unresolved ref root 336 dir 256 index 11 namelen 10 name .snapshots error 600 found 80886251520 bytes used err is 1 total csum bytes: 78843128 total tree bytes: 146038784 total fs tree bytes: 43999232 btree space waste bytes: 20463268 file data blocks allocated: 308050538496 referenced 150826323968 Btrfs v0.19+ win@ara [1282]$ .. and that creates some headache to me. btrfsck complains about the problems, but it does not fix them.
