I actually found a monitor which supports FreeSync. So I installed current TW with amdgpu X driver and configured that the same way you did. Of course connected via DP cable (only DisplayPort >= 1.2a includes FreeSync AFAIK) Section "Device" Identifier "AMD" Driver "amdgpu" Option "TearFree" "true" Option "VariableRefresh" "true" EndSection I also see AMDGPU(0): VariableRefresh: enabled in /var/log/Xorg.0.log. With enabled FreeSync in monitor menu when I start "love <directory for VRRTest lua files>" I see a framerate of 95 fps. When I disable it it starts with 55 fps. I think the latter looks worse. Could me tell me, what/how to test exactly with VRRTest and on what I should pay attention, so I can see whether things are working or not? I checked out VRRTest git tree from https://github.com/Nixola/VRRTest. love is a package already included in Tumbleweed.
