We (i.e. openSUSE) do not provode that proprietary software. We only provide the HPLIP tarball release. Therefore the issue is not caused by openSUSE, see https://bugzilla.novell.com/page.cgi?id=fields.html#status regarding "upstream" bug. We cannot do anything that is related to proprietary software. Please report issues that are related to HP's proprietary software directly to HPLIP upstream, see "Report a Bug" at http://hplipopensource.com/hplip-web/support.html In this particular case I assume it is the same as in bnc#815186 "HPLIP: proprietary plug-in not send after plugging printer" which is already reported to HPLIP upstream as https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1169457 To verify whether or not it is actually a duplicate of bnc#815186 check if it works when you initiate firmware upload to the printer manually as user 'root' by calling the "hp-firmware" tool. Before you call "hp-firmware" you may have to clean up all your print queues: As user 'root' run "cancel -a" which completely removes all existing (old) print jobs (including job history) in all print queues. Regarding general issues with firmware upload you may have a look at my own bad experience, see https://bugs.launchpad.net/hplip/+bug/187049 *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 815186 *** http://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=815186 -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
