[Bug 214271] New: Freezing and restarting with ATI A9250
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=214271 Summary: Freezing and restarting with ATI A9250 Product: SUSE Linux 10.1 Version: Final Platform: x86 OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Blocker Priority: P5 - None Component: Kernel AssignedTo: kernel-maintainers@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: habele86@vipmail.hu QAContact: qa@suse.de When I installed SuSE Linux 10.1 (clean install) everything was ok. But when I switched on the machine at first time (after install), the system freezed and restarted itself. And it continues periodically until I switched off the computer. I haven't got any idea avout this problem, because the same happened with Fedora Core 4, but this problem disappeared in Fedora Core 5. SuSE Linux 10.0 works well, too... (I hope, Linux 10.2 will work because I don't want to use Windows... :) ) My platform: AMD Sempron 3100+ (x86 based) RAM: 512 MB HDD: Maxtor 160 GB Video: ATI Radeon A9250 (256 MB) Sound: AC '97 -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.

Whenever I touch sax or any of the setting related to the video the screen goes wild. Only option is to shut down (power button shuts down clean) and reinstall sax and the parts of yast related to X org) from iso dvd. This happened in 10.1 and still happens in 10.2 beta1 factory Hugo -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=214271 ------- Comment #3 from habele86@vipmail.hu 2006-11-05 01:54 MST ------- There are 3 big problems with me: 1. I am just a beginner (yes, I can use Linux only with GUI). I don't know a simple Linux command... :( 2. For my work, I need a stable operating system so that's why I can't join to test Linux (unfortunately, because I want...). 3. I haven't got any experience to find a problem... :( (The bus station is where a bus stops, a train station is where a train stops. My desk is a workstation...) -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.

Please use the openSUSE community support forums to help you along; the bugzilla really is only used to track (kernel) bugs. http://www.opensuse.org/ should offer helpful advice and support. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.
