[Bug 263738] New: Task Bar not accesible when display changes to show all open windows in reduced size
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=263738 Summary: Task Bar not accesible when display changes to show all open windows in reduced size Product: openSUSE 10.3 Version: Alpha 3 Platform: x86 OS/Version: openSUSE 10.3 Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: GNOME AssignedTo: bnc-team-gnome@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: casualprogrammer@yahoo.com QAContact: qa@suse.de In openSuSE 10.3 alpha3 when desktop effects are enabled, the display changes to show reduced size images scattered over the desktop. While this is a rather nice feature, it seems to block access to the task bar ( I think it's called "panel" in gnome, not sure though. I am referencing the bar across the bottom of the display containing various applets as well as showing open windows ). I can only exit from this situation by clicking on one of the reduced windows on the desktop, but not by clicking on an item in the task bar. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.

The idea is that you pick the window you want to activate, or by clicking on the Desktop, you hide them all. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.

You are forced to open a window arbitrarily before you can access your desired function. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.

You told it to do so by moving your mouse to the upper left corner. Disable it if you don't like it. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.

Change this to enhancement if you think the design is proper ( although it escapes me completely, why an enhancement like window picker should disable other functionality in the first place. ) -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=263738 mboman@novell.com changed: What |Removed |Added ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Status|REOPENED |RESOLVED Resolution| |INVALID ------- Comment #6 from mboman@novell.com 2007-04-12 03:18 MST ------- With the development version of the new compiz plugins, you are able to interact properly. The plug in we are talking about is actually called SCALE. I used "Window picker" as it is what you can see in the "Desktop Effects" settings window. Still closing as invalid as per you initial request. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.
