[Bug 1053777] New: Jack can't use realtime kernel functions
http://bugzilla.opensuse.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1053777 Bug ID: 1053777 Summary: Jack can't use realtime kernel functions Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE Distribution Version: Leap 42.3 Hardware: Other OS: Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Kernel Assignee: kernel-maintainers@forge.provo.novell.com Reporter: simonf.lees@suse.com QA Contact: qa-bugs@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- When launching Jack via Cadence [1] or likely any other method, Jack isn't running with real time priority, however if I swap to the kernel from Kernal:Stable (or use tumbleweed) it works as expected. For the audio recording / video work i'm doing having real time is the difference between working and broken. I'm creating this bug as documentation as much as anything else i'm happy to keep running a kernel from Kernel:Stable simon@tek-master ~ > cat /etc/security/limits.d/99-audio.conf @audio - rtprio 99 @audio - memlock unlimited 1. https://build.opensuse.org/package/show/home:simotek:multimedia/Cadence -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.

Could you check the kernel in 42.3 update-test? http://download.opensuse.org/update/leap/42.3-test/
From some limited testing that seems to be working, thanks as a bonus My Steinberg UR44 interface is now also showing the right number of inputs and outputs
