[Bug 769536] New: Gnome-bluetooth fails to pair with any device
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=769536 https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=769536#c0 Summary: Gnome-bluetooth fails to pair with any device Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 12.2 Version: Beta 2 Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: openSUSE 12.2 Status: NEW Severity: Critical Priority: P5 - None Component: GNOME AssignedTo: bnc-team-gnome@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: badshah400@gmail.com QAContact: qa-bugs@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:13.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/13.0 While testing the bluetooth stack in GNOME on openSUSE 12.2, I saw that the bluetooth-wizard fails to pair with any bluetooth device giving the following messages when launched from a terminal:- ================================ (bluetooth-wizard:2743): GLib-GIO-WARNING **: Type of return value is incorrect, got `(s)', expected `()' (bluetooth-wizard:2743): Bluetooth-WARNING **: CreateDevice failed: Timeout was reached ================================ This has been widely reported (e.g., in rh#819203) and is a big regression from the gnome-bluetooth stack in GNOME 3.2, where I just tested, that everything worked great. Fortunately, this is easy to fix and the developer has attached a patch in the upstream bugzilla [1] only yesterday. the patch is against gnome-bluetooth-3.4.1, which is in Factory but not in openSUSE:12.2 (which still has 3.4.0). I have the patched packages at [2], and tested them to see that they work. I think this is a critical issue that needs fixing for openSUSE 12.2 by pushing gnome-bluetooth-3.4.1 and this patch together to openSUSE:12.2.
