Johannes, comment #82 seems to imply that printing *does* work fine if
modprobe.conf doesn't specify any i/o or dma address, and it *fails* when dma 7
is specified, which seems to be the value after install.
IMO this means that something is writing an invalid value (7 really isn't the
right number for ECP DMA, I have yet to see a board that doesn't have ECP on
either DMA channel 3, or in a few cases 1) to the configuration file, either
during install or even as a part of some package.
Once we remove the manually entered options and let the kernel autodetect, it
works, but then still unloading the module kills the parallel port using ACPI
PnP, physically disabling it, and the enable-code is still not good enough to
bring it to life.
