After some googling i found that other people had also this problem but not with tomcat. rpm -v -e tomcat6-6.0.29-30.5.noarch .failed error: %preun(tomcat6-6.0.29-30.5.noarch) scriptlet failed, exit status 1 I was able to delete the rpm using the following: rpm -e tomcat6-6.0.29-30.5 --noscripts warning: /etc/tomcat6/server.xml saved as /etc/tomcat6/server.xml.rpmsave this may be related to Bug 507418 Reproducible: Didn't try Steps to Reproduce: 1. 2. 3.
