[Bug 287076] New: high frequency change rate makes system slow
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=287076 Summary: high frequency change rate makes system slow Product: openSUSE 10.2 Version: Final Platform: PowerPC OS/Version: Linux Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: GNOME AssignedTo: bnc-team-gnome@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: olh@novell.com QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: --- Switching the frequency from 400MHz to 600Mhz and back stalls everything for a fraction of a second on my iBook. A fresh (default) GNOME install does the frequency switching several times per second, which makes the system really slow and unresponsive. I did not notice such a slowdown with KDE, system was upgraded from 10.0 to 10.2. I expect that GNOME should leave the cpu speed as is, and change it only when there is really really a need for it. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
