[Bug 400520] vnc doesn't recognize umlauts
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=400520 https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=400520#c98 --- Comment #98 from Joachim Grunwald <JGrunwald@ecotronic.de> 2011-03-31 16:32:57 UTC --- I am also unhappy with the priority level. For people using a German keyboard vnc is practically unusable. I rate this bug P1-Urgend / Major (if not Critical). I am remotely administering 3 openSUSE servers, that I just wanted to upgrade to 11.4. For me vnc access to these systems is critical and being unable to enter a '/' makes it more than difficult to do simple things like "cd /home/..." or enter a URL. And I am a bit worried, that the error was detected in June 2008 and still has not been fixed. So I am afraid, that there will not be a quick fix for this. Which might render me switching to a different distribution, if this is not fixed in a few weeks. It should not be too difficult, as I have no problems with recent Ubuntu (10.04, 10.10) and fedora (9,11,13,14). They might use different vnc packages though. Is it possible to find out, if somebody is working on a fix? Or when it might be fixed? -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
