https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=220800 ------- Comment #1 from jeffm@novell.com 2006-11-14 10:58 MST ------- Did this disk work in a previous version? Typically when I've seen messages like that, it's been with an external modular enclosure with a disk that didn't quite get along with the enclosure's ATA controller. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.

https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=220800 ------- Comment #2 from chuller@novell.com 2006-11-16 07:39 MST ------- The disk is a intel macbook in firewire target mode. IT currently gets used for 10.2 install tests on a macbook, as long as these tests last the hardware can't be used for providing info to this bugreport. As we currently ran into problems installing 10.2 i assume it will be available earliest from next week on. Sorry for the inconvenience. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.

https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=220800 ------- Comment #4 from chuller@novell.com 2006-11-24 04:22 MST ------- thats ok, the "firewire disk" is a macbook in target mode. due to ongoing install tests on this machine (better said, ongoing fixing of the bootloader) i can't test with a previous version (we have upgraded all 10.1 to 10.2 also, so the previous version has to be installed as well). I will update the bug as soon as possible, a md5 sum check on the copied file showed that no read/write errors occured, so as there is no data loss I'd expect it just be some ugly message with no effect beside maybe loss of speed. Therefor downgrading is finewith me -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.

(In particular, serialize_io=1 is the default in newer kernels and is safe. serialize_io=0 is buggy.) Did you get messages from sbp2 trying to "reconnect" during I/O? -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.

And you're sure it's not the target mode driver from macbook bailing out? Anyway, cannot really continue without further information. Closing this bug. Please re-open if you feel it'll warrant further inspection. But then please attach the message log. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.
