--- Comment #1 from Stefan Dirsch sndirsch@novell.com 2008-08-05 10:53:01 MDT --- Could you reproduce this when using
Option "AccelMethod" "XAA"
in 'Section "Device"' of your /etc/X11/xorg.conf?

--- Comment #3 from Stefan Dirsch sndirsch@novell.com 2008-08-05 12:05:24 MDT --- Ok. I don't think this is a driver issue.

--- Comment #4 from David Markey admin@dmarkey.com 2008-08-05 12:07:32 MDT --- i think it is because when i use the vesa driver it works fine and in my experience that new intel driver is flaky at the best of times.

--- Comment #5 from Stefan Dirsch sndirsch@novell.com 2008-08-05 12:17:52 MDT --- xscreensaver is crashing, not the Xserver, right? And an xscreensaver update fixes the crash. Different behaviour of an X11 application is possible due to different features a driver provides (different code paths). I think the conclusion is wrong that the driver is the culprit here.
