[Bug 501799] New: Unable to start subversion server after subversion update to 1.6.1-6.2
http://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=501799 Summary: Unable to start subversion server after subversion update to 1.6.1-6.2 Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 11.0 Version: Final Platform: x86 OS/Version: openSUSE 11.0 Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Apache AssignedTo: bnc-team-apache@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: vodicka.petr@email.cz QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; cs-CZ; rv:1.9.0.9) Gecko/2009041500 SUSE/3.0.9-0.1 Firefox/3.0.9 Before update I had fully working svn server 1.5.0 running on Apache. After update to 1.6.1 from http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/Subversion/Apache_openSUSE_11.0/ (same result with http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/Subversion/openSUSE_11.0/), Apache is unable to start. It's because apache module mod_dav_svn.so (from subversion-server-1.6.1-6.2-i586 package) is unable to find apr_memcache_add_server symbol in libsvn_subr-1.so.0 (from subversion-1.6.1-6.2-i586 package). Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Install clean OpenSUSE 11.0 2. Install subversion-server 3. Update subversion-server to 1.6.1 from http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/Subversion/Apache_openSUSE_11.0/ Actual Results: Starting httpd2 (prefork) httpd2-prefork: Syntax error on line 116 of /etc/apache2/httpd.conf: Syntax error on line 31 of /etc/apache2/sysconfig.d/loadmodule.conf: Cannot load /usr/lib/apache2/mod_dav_svn.so into server: /usr/lib/libsvn_subr-1.so.0: undefined symbol: apr_memcache_add_server The command line was: /usr/sbin/httpd2-prefork -f /etc/apache2/httpd.conf failed Expected Results: Working Apache with svn modules. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

Thanks a lot. It is really working if I use Apache from repository http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/Apache/openSUSE_11.0/.
Good!
But I have one note. Repository http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/Subversion/openSUSE_11.0/ is obviously not built against the distro, because it is not working against distro Apache.
What is not working with those packages? And why do you conclude that is not built against the distro Apache? (I just checked, and it is really built against the right target.) -- Configure bugmail: http://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

If I had Apache from distro and Subversion from http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/Subversion/openSUSE_11.0/ the same apr_memcache_add_server problem occured. You told, that it should work. Or Am I missing something? -- Configure bugmail: http://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
