The software Management screen is left on the screen for a very log time. Error is attached as screen shot. Note the current online update source is perfectly capable of updating software normally in an on line update. I do not undertand why the online catalogue is queried to add/delete the local catalog - This is perhaps true to establish if there are any updates to the software catalog held locally. After ignoring the error - update/deletion o software functions correctly. I successfully added source http://mirror.pacific.net.au/linux/suse/update/10.1, the software managment module started correctly and I could see the packages provided by the source. The archive in the comment #5 is empty, no logs. Please, attach the logs again. You could also to reproduce the problem again. You server did have an issue in identifying .bz2 files and uploaded them as 0 byte files. I believe there is now an error response to 0 byte file. I no longer have yast2 log files going back to last September.
