https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=307257#c3 --- Comment #3 from Cristian Rodriguez 2007-09-04 00:13:15 MST --- ok this is the situation : all the .la files in the package seems to be useless, including those in the "plugins" directory that are included in the devel package. first, we have /usr/lib64/libesmtp.la infesting with unnededd dependencies all other packages, even more.. static libraries are not packaged. second, the libtool archives in the "plugins" dir are not needed because on linux the library will use dlsym() from -ldl instead of using ltdl. there are yet more bugs in the package though. 1. it does not run ldconfig but installs shared libraries on %{_libdir} 2. %{_bindir}/libesmtp-config is in the wrong package, it should be in the -devel package, and here be the bloat again applications calling /usr/bin/libesmtp-config --libs will get -pthread -L/usr/lib64 -lesmtp -lssl -lcrypto -llwres -ldl when it AFAICS should just return -lesmtp. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
