The rfkill module is bound to the cfg80211 now as opposite to the 2.6.27 [2]. Interestingly, I could have sworn that earlier versions of 2.6.31 (until two weeks ago, say) had worked.

I have upgraded the iwl4965-ucode package to the latest version 228.61.2.24 in the hardware project [1]. If it solves your problem I will submit it to the Factory.
