https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=349109 Summary: SaX2 - NVidia GE 8300 GS card, Iiyama VM Pro 450 undected by DDC Product: openSUSE 10.3 Version: Final Platform: x86 OS/Version: openSUSE 10.3 Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: SaX2 AssignedTo: ms@novell.com ReportedBy: rob.opensuse.linux@googlemail.com QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: --- Graphics - NVidia GeForce 8300 GS Monitor - Iiyama Vision Master Pro 450 Made a fresh install, having run SaX2 on a different machine with this monitor hooked up to a Matrox card. It was detected by DDC, and shown in SaX2, as I expected from past experience. This install, the "nv" driver was selected, but the monitor remained "Vesa 1280x1024 16bit". Running SaX2 from text mode, the monitor was still not detected. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

The detection is based on libhd. I expect the command hwinfo --monitor return the same "generic" data. There was something I saw in a recent kernel config file about DDC, with an option needing to be enabled for some graphics cards, but I _am_ using the stock SuSE kernel : uname -a Linux fir 2.6.22.13-0.3-default #1 SMP 2007/11/19 15:02:58 UTC i686 athlon i386 -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
