Could you please try booting with
(a) kernel-vanilla (latest from update repository) to check if the behaviour is introduced by upstream 3.12 kernel or by one of SLE12-SP1 backports
Vanilla default kernel works. (Since I use Suse _desktop_ kernel, to be sure I tested Suse _default_ kernel, it doesn't work.)
(b) kernel-default from openSUSE Leap 42.2 to check if the regression was fixed between SLE12-SP1 and SLE12-SP2
Doesn't boot. I get a call trace ending with this error: DWARF2 unwinder stuck at end_repeat_nmi +0x1a/0x1e
(The kernel package is rather independent on the rest of the system so there shouldn't be a problem with installing Leap 42.2 package on 13.1. You just may need to install it with --nodeps as it IIRC has formal conflict with older kernel-desktop packages.)
Right :-) -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.
