I already tried with fixed IP and DHCP, once the dhcp worked, but stopped working. what is most intriguing is that worked in opensuse 10.3 with the patches in the kernel. I am already thinking of upgrading to the kernel to 2.6.26. There, typed: rcnetwork stop, and then I was set up by the network method ifup, and is working.
