[Bug 1047929] New: Host.rb crashes by parsing new host entries
http://bugzilla.suse.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1047929 Bug ID: 1047929 Summary: Host.rb crashes by parsing new host entries Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE Distribution Version: Leap 42.3 Hardware: Other OS: Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: AppArmor Assignee: suse-beta@cboltz.de Reporter: varkoly@suse.com QA Contact: qa-bugs@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- Created attachment 731741 --> http://bugzilla.suse.com/attachment.cgi?id=731741&action=edit y2log In a yast module I setup a network configuration with the API of yast2-network. The /etc/hosts will be written by using Host module: host_tmp = Host.Export Ops.set(host_tmp, "hosts", { ip => ["admin." + domain + " admin"], mail => ["mailserver." + domain + " mailserver" ], prin => ["printserver." + domain + " printserver" ], prox => ["proxy." + domain + " proxy" ], backup => ["backup." + domain + " backup" ], }) Host.Import(host_tmp) ip, mail, prin, proy and backup are variable containing different valid ip-addresses. Until openLeap 42.2 this has worked fine. In openLeap 42.3 the @hosts is not a hash but a CFA::Hosts object. The Augeas parser serializer crashes. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.

If found what is problem. In import it create new instance of CFA::Host, but it shares same instance of parser, which keeps old entry, so CFA try to just edit existing entries. I prepare pull request that fixes it.
Peter - is SLE15 and TW enough? I worry SP3 and 42.3 is a now almost frozen.
Update for both SP3 and 42.3 would be nice. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.

What is the actual 'real world' impact of this bug?
How could QA reproduce this issue using the functionality of the YaST modules shipped in SLE 12 SP3?
Poking around with yast2 lan I've not been able to produce any sort of issue similar to what's reported here.
I expect it is in some SLES for SAP module Peter developing. It is not common YaST workflow to read configuration and also import it. So something to ask Peter. Also there is a question if it affects installation or only running system. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.
