[Bug 421810] New: nm-tool: requires networkmanager source build
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=421810 Summary: nm-tool: requires networkmanager source build Product: openSUSE 10.3 Version: Final Platform: i586 OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Network AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: bluedzins@wp.pl QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: --- In my struggle to run NM I installed newer version of it 0.7, but when previously (0.6.5) nm-tool at least reported something, now it tries to get something from /usr/src/packages/BUILD/NetworkManager-0.7/test this is obviously path from the building NM, but user should be able to install binary package of NM and not build itself just to satisfy nm-tool needs. Btw. after try to cd to this path nm-tool tries this gcc: nm-tool.o: No such file or directory gcc: ../libnm-glib/.libs/libnm_glib.so: No such file or directory gcc: /usr/src/packages/BUILD/NetworkManager-0.7.0/libnm-util/.libs/libnm-util.so: No such file or directory gcc: ../libnm-util/.libs/libnm-util.so: No such file or directory -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

Bottom line -- no binary package should require files from the building stage. If the srpm package is required it should be specified in spec file -- but it was not. So I think it is more than valid -- it is crystal clear case of badly prepared rpm. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
