[Bug 204111] Storage -- yast2 disk - Expert partitioner is too complex
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=204111 locilka@novell.com changed: What |Removed |Added ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Status|NEEDINFO |ASSIGNED Info Provider|locilka@novell.com | ------- Comment #7 from locilka@novell.com 2006-09-08 00:29 MST ------- Thomas, you're right that Used_By makes sense to print when there are some of LVM,EVMS,DMRAID,DM or MD, on the other hand, if there is none of them, the column is blank (actually common partitions have it blank). Having a blank column is confusing. Solution - "showing that column only in when there is something to print into" doesn't make sense from the usability point of view. I just don't known :( You and Edith have suggested removing "Label", well, I use it for every partition on my disks but this is because I have a lot of systems installed there and it helps me a lot. Normal user will probably not use it so often. So if you wanna move it to "details", it probably makes sense. For handling a persisten behavior around "Show Details", it would make sense one function when defining a boolean variable that says whether details will be visible. Saving the current state makes sense before they leave the dialog. On the other hand, you can still guarantee the persistency only in running system. AutoYaST, First Stage Installation - these modes cannot save the state anywhere (so easy). Christian is right that the column "F" have a bit confusing name :(, I know, this is for saving horizontal space in table. Thomas, maybe it would make sense to propose this dialog (as a simple enhancement) and ask users at openSUSE mailing list. Do we really know what they want? You still do not need to follow their wishes then... Please, let me know, I can modify the patch if you want (created against trunk/storage, not against SLE 10 SP1 branch). -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is. --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-bugs+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-bugs+help@opensuse.org
