http://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=542482 Summary: /var at boot is read-only Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 11.2 Version: Milestone 7 Platform: i586 OS/Version: SuSE Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Basesystem AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: arxidiamidia@yahoo.com QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 6.1; en-US; rv:1.9.1.3) Gecko/20090824 Firefox/3.5.3 High, i have installed with SUN Virtual Box the x86 Milestone 7 and add the community software repositories. I installed some 'test' packages through update and the tried manually update: I picked the system repository afterward and checked 'All in this list update if new version available' in order to fully update all installed packages (kde4 installation) It prompted to me a message that yast will be update so that will be the first to be installed and after i had to reboot. After reboot system hangs after boot screen, reading the /var and find it at read-only mode. I tried init3 and safe boot options with no luck. It hangs though at a console asking for username and password, but after entering root password i got the message 'Service unavailble' Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.Update full the system repository 2.Reboot after yast update 3. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
