https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=215236 ------- Comment #1 from sh@novell.com 2006-10-26 06:10 MST ------- The language selection should probably handle "going backwards" differently than going forward. Right now it seems to return `auto if the user selected his language in the Grub screen. It should do that only in forward direction, not backwards. IIRC the "going backwards" flag is passed to those YCP modules. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.

But I'm afraid it could influence also Add-On licenses.
Maybe that was a reason for disabling it. See point 1 of comment #2, the report could be marked as invalid anyway. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=215236 ------- Comment #7 from locilka@novell.com 2006-10-26 07:09 MST ------- Actually it was possible to avoid from displaying [Back] button for Add-Ons with some effor. The one who tried to handle everything by one module for licenses made a mistake by disabling the back for every case but obviously wanted to enable it for the fist stage installation. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.

1. There is the possibility - you can enter language selection from the Installation proposal menu.
I think Timo's point was that you don't get that far before you accept the license, and if you don't understand the language, you'd have to accept something you don't understand. This might even cause legal problems: Somebody might claim he wanted to change the language so he can read the license, but he had to accept it without understanding it just so he could change the language, so that "accept" click might be void in a legal sense. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=215236 ------- Comment #9 from locilka@novell.com 2006-10-26 07:28 MST ------- I'm afraid this if off-topic because you can choose between licenses if they exist (combobox). This doesn't depend on the language selected for the installation. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.

No, actually I was afraid of choosing a wrong language by mistake (so I did) and not able to revert that change without rebooting. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.
