I'd like to try the patch but I need more instructions how. Can I do that on the running system? If so, what commands do I need to run after patching the file?
Yes, you can patch the file on a running system. Once done you can run "mkinitrd" to include the patched rule file in initrd. Then you can reboot and see if the old symlinks in /dev/by-id are restored. Thanks. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.
