http://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=571373 http://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=571373#c0 Summary: In the OOo search dialog the user cann't introduce a new work to search o to replace easily. Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 11.2 Version: Final Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: openSUSE 11.2 Status: NEW Severity: Minor Priority: P5 - None Component: OpenOffice.org AssignedTo: bnc-team-ooo@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: publio.escipion.el.africano@gmail.com QAContact: cwei@novell.com Found By: --- Blocker: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux x86_64; es-ES; rv:1.9.1.6) Gecko/20091201 SUSE/3.5.6-1.1.1 Firefox/3.5.6 It is a bug involving the OOo search dialog, in which the user cann't introduce a new work to search o to replace easily because the list of previous searches and replaces were shown when the user clicks on the search/replace fields. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.Open OOo search/replace dialog and 2.after a search/replace intend, try to reintroduce new terms for finding or replacing. 3. Actual Results: It is difficult to introduce the new terms. I use to select one of them so the cursor appears and then I modify the field with Del, BckSpc, and Left & Right cursor keys. Expected Results: To write directly on the search/replace fields. /usr/lib64/ooo3/basis-link/program/libvclplug_kde4lx.so solves this issue. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

However, Bug 571373, on the OOo search dialog the user can't introduce a new work to search or to replace easily, is still present, but not at the same degree of hardening. Also, the Search box still "flicks" when chosen "More Options" before it be expanded stably. On issue referred as Bug 601243, OOo has issues while saving the files, and even crashes, after updating Java Runtime, I can not tell you yet. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

This issue was not corrected in OOo Writer 3.2.1.6-1.1 x86_64, which also, although more stable, seldom crashed (concerning it, the good news was that it recovered the working documents 100%, that it was something that I missed since the OOo versions released with openSuSE 10.2). I do really hope that this gain (search dialog almost fixed) doesn't mean a step-back in the stability of OOo and its recovery capabilities. Thank you all, and Merry Christmas! -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

They were annoying, so we decided to use the original implementation for LibreOffice-3.3 => it should be fixed. Someone is working on another implementation of the layout dialogs. It will be used in the future and hopefully will not have the above mentioned problems. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

I am sorry for delaying my answer, but I was hurried (I still am) with a paper, and I was not in a disposition to deal with an Office potentially unstable as I experienced a year ago, being nowadays SuSE's OOo more stable and I knowing how to do to not mess my work. So, in fact, it was today when I installed LibreOffice in my Desktop PC. I had to uninstall OOo. I knew that it was a possibility, but I wonder if both installation might coexist as old and new OOo might in old SuSE 9.3 Professional. I have noticed certain warnings in YaST2 output, which mostly complete I'll attach to this comment. I have been playing with LibreOffice for a while, and I will work with it the next days, so I'll tell you soon how it will be going. The splash screen is very nice, and tasteful. Its appearance is not dis-similar to OOo, but has bold characters in the rules and the bottom that drive me crazy, and I do not know whether it is so because I am unaccustomed or they are distasteful. But if worked fine, the characters, bold as they are, would be a mere frivolity. Also, I have noticed that the ODF was upgraded to "extended 1.2", and it do worries me, because the compatibility between LibreOffice and OOo concerns me. Might you suggest me whether my worry is justified or not, and where might I take inform of these changes. I got: http://www.openoffice.org/dev_docs/features/3.2/rc1.html#general_odf http://orcmid.com/blog/2010/02/worst-nightmare-opendocument-format.asp Perhaps it was like that by default in SuSE's OOo 3.2.1, but I don't remember it, and I pointed it out because I have changed the Office. I have currently not my laptop at hand to check it. However Lubos Lunak mentioned OOo 3.3.0, it is not published yet. I would like that it be published in the OBS repository soon, because while I be testing LibreOffice I will retain OOo in my laptop, and certainly I hope that some issues be fixed. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

I have a lot of excuses, but valid there are none. Also, I have checked my laptop and OOo 3.2.1 is "1.2 extended". (I have realized that I miss-spelled "word" as "work" once. I hope those warnings be nothing.
They mean the the OpenOffice_org packages were not cleanly removed and left some mess on the system. The new libreoffice packages are installed correctly. I will try to fix it in the next build. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
