[Bug 584894] New: Power management system idle clock starts counting while on A/C and triggers on D/C
http://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=584894 http://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=584894#c0 Summary: Power management system idle clock starts counting while on A/C and triggers on D/C Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 11.2 Version: Final Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: openSUSE 11.2 Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: KDE4 Workspace AssignedTo: kde-maintainers@suse.de ReportedBy: tyler@tylerburton.ca QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux x86_64; en-US; rv:1.9.1.8) Gecko/20100204 SUSE/3.5.8-0.1.1 Firefox/3.5.8 When setting up power settings if you tell the machine to perform an action after it has been idle for a certain period of time (say Suspend after 50min) and then you assign this profile to the battery section, the action will trigger immediately after removing power if the system was previously already idle under a different profile. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Set your power settings to (under profile management) to resemble something like this: [on power] Performance [on battery] Powersave 2. With your computer plugged in go get a coffee or do something that takes more than 15min. Do not touch the mouse or press any keys during this time. 3. Come back and unplug the power cord without touching the mouse or pressing any keys. 4. Watch as the computer instantly goes into standby. Actual Results: The system goes into standby because it has been idle for the past x number of minutes. Expected Results: The system to reset the idle counter when the power is removed or plugged back in. This would result in the computer waiting x number of minutes AFTER the profile has been entered before performing the action. Happens in KDE 4.3.5 -- Configure bugmail: http://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
