I am told that this was fixed in libXext-1.0.99.2 http://cgit.freedesktop.org/xorg/lib/libXext/commit/?id=8a91fc6f72206362f399... Why haven't you updated the version to stop this message that occurs all the time for me? Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Run any X application to my MacPro 2. The error appears 3. Actual Results: Xlib: extension "Generic Event Extension" missing on display "localhost:10.0". As you already said such an update would introduce it's own set of issues. This even without any beta tests. Also I don't understand why you want to update all X libraries just to fix the issue in libXext. In case you didn't notice it yet. openSUSE is a community project. Beginning with openSUSE 11.2 everybody can request and prepare a package update (if approved), so feel free to improve the situation.
