[Bug 331864] New: knetworkmanager does not prompt for vpn private key passphrase
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=331864 Summary: knetworkmanager does not prompt for vpn private key passphrase Product: openSUSE 10.3 Version: Final Platform: Other OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Network AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: kerekfyp@komal.hu QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: --- I have an openvpn connection which used to work flawlessly in 10.2. The openvpn server requires x509 authentication hence I have the following three files: CA, CERT and privete key. The private key is encrypted. In 10.2 knetworkmanager used to ask for the passphrase to decrypt the private key before connecting to the vpn, but in 10.3 no such dialog appears and after a while knetworkmanager reports a failure. syslog says: nm-openvpn[21304]: OpenVPN 2.0.9 i586-suse-linux [SSL] [LZO] [EPOLL] built on Sep 22 2007 nm-openvpn[21241]: ERROR: could not read Private Key user name/password from management interface nm-openvpn[21304]: Exiting I am pretty sure that it is caused by the encrypted private key because it works fine with an unencrypted key. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

It would be very nice if you could increase the priority of this bug report, and provide a patch for OpenSuse11 and SLES.
You're talking about SLED10? NetworkManager in OS 11.0 and SLED10 is completely different. A fix for 11.0 would not help to fix SLED10 and the other way round. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

Just to be sure about the severity: This bug _is_ blocking me.
Sure. But according to the new bugzilla policy this is no blocker. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
