If at all this might be triggered by the update procedure (yast2-update ?) by removing the file /var/spool/cron/lastrun/cron.daily. Under default configuration cron.daily scripts will run 15min after removal. Lukas, what do you think about this? -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.
From point of the installation/update, this is no problem, I would just add one
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=222000 locilka@novell.com changed: What |Removed |Added ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- CC| |locilka@novell.com Status|NEEDINFO |NEW Info Provider|locilka@novell.com | ------- Comment #3 from locilka@novell.com 2007-01-12 00:40 MST ------- It depends whether it could influence some other things or services, I think it could. I don't have any strong opinion for this issue, but considering the diagram below, removing the file (forcing cron to run) is only partly solution (but maybe sufficient). cron --+-- cron.daily --+-- findutils | | | +-- unknown 1 | | | +-- unknown 2 | | | ... | +-- cron.weekly --+- ... | ... line of code (well, rather more, I could check whether 'findutils-locate' is installed in remove that file only in that case). Someone has to think about this solution also from the point of the running system _after_ the installation/update is complete. Of course, removing the /var/spool/cron/lastrun/cron.daily file would have to be done in the second stage of installation right after all packages are installed. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.

This is obviously not a bug but a feature. Shall we evaluate this further? -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.

You can install findutils-locate even after the YaST installation with zypper and I doubt we want to handle that case as well. Let's reject this. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.
