http://bugzilla.opensuse.org/show_bug.cgi?id=932362 Bug ID: 932362 Summary: D-Bus prints warning due to faulty NetworkManager config file Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE Distribution Version: 13.2 Hardware: Other OS: Other Status: NEW Severity: Minor Priority: P5 - None Component: Network Assignee: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com Reporter: thiago@kde.org QA Contact: qa-bugs@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- Every time the system dbus-daemon reloads its configuration, it prints the following warning to syslog: dbus-daemon[1147]: Unknown username "srvGeoClue" in message bus configuration file That is caused by https://build.opensuse.org/package/view_file/openSUSE:Factory/NetworkManager... added in commit https://build.opensuse.org/request/show/223859. The warning happens when you don't have geoclue installed. The patch is a big hammer for a problem that should be fixed in GeoClue's side. Please move any required D-Bus rules to its package, to be installed if and only if GeoClue itself is installed. It would also be nice to work with upstream to make sure that they're not making calls they shouldn't be making. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.

http://bugzilla.opensuse.org/show_bug.cgi?id=932362 http://bugzilla.opensuse.org/show_bug.cgi?id=932362#c1 Donald Curtis <donald@curtisliberty.de> changed: What |Removed |Added ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- CC| |donald@curtisliberty.de --- Comment #1 from Donald Curtis <donald@curtisliberty.de> --- When booting, 13.2 KDE(4) systems also raise the first dbus-daemon journal entry as follows: Unknown username "srvGeoClue" in message bus configuration file Simple fix: install the package geoclue2 and then remove it -- the system user "srvGeoClue" remains. 13.2 KDE(4) systems only have "libgeoclue0" installed which, by the way, provides the directory /usr/share/geoclue-providers/. Presumably, if the system user "srvGeoClue" is not available anything which attempts to provide geospatial awareness using the information NetworkManager presumably provides, will error. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.

We are sorry that we do not always have the capacity to look at all reported bugs in a timely manner. There have been many changes in openSUSE since the time you reported the bug and your problem may have been fixed with some of the updates. It would help us a lot if you could test it on a current, supported openSUSE version. When you test it and it is still an issue, kindly reopen this bug and move it to the tested version of openSUSE. Truly yours. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.
