[Bug 666276] New: kernel crashes, unable to handle paging request at <some address>, possibly related to reverse engineered forcedeth (nvidia) module
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=666276 https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=666276#c0 Summary: kernel crashes, unable to handle paging request at <some address>, possibly related to reverse engineered forcedeth (nvidia) module Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 11.1 Version: Final Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: openSUSE 11.1 Status: NEW Severity: Critical Priority: P5 - None Component: Kernel AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: rens.groenewegen@xs4all.nl QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- Created an attachment (id=409619) --> (http://bugzilla.novell.com/attachment.cgi?id=409619) contains dmesg.log from reboot and bug.log from actual kernel crash. User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux x86_64; en-US; rv:1.9.2.13) Gecko/20101203 SUSE/3.6.13-0.1.1 Firefox/3.6.13 kernel crashes, unable to handle paging request at <some address>, see log file. system freezes, and so does gbit ethernet card, which causes a hang of the gbit switch from netgear, resulting in no IP traffic possible on switch and all systems connected. some other observations, maybe related, maybe not: from dmesg: "possible SYN flooding on port 51234. Sending cookies." port 51234 is in use as tcp tracker port of ktorrent. when the SYN flooding happens a few times, it makes messages appear in dmesg that there are too many iterations in forcedeth.c while handling interrupts. I havent got the original dmesg, but they will probably show up again. I do not understand why it is a reverse engineered driver ? nvidia provides source code for the ether driver for this motherboard ? (m2n) Reproducible: Sometimes Steps to Reproduce: 1. I do not know. 2. 3. Actual Results: none -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
