But this option don't work, so I use save_y2logs and attach this log here. - This screen shot is useless to compare with the first screen shot. - I cannot see anything bad in this screen shot, the fonts are sharp and crisp. Yes, this screen shot is nicely comparable with your first screen shot. But I don't see any problem with this screen shot. The fonts look *much* sharper and clearer than in the first screen shot. They are not blurred at all. Compare with "xmag" if you don't believe me. Completely unrelated problem. You make create a new bug report about lack of bold fonts in Thunderbird. Your xorg.conf doesn't set the variable DisplaySize. Therefore you get a default dpi which might not match your monitor well. Usually sax2 sets DisplaySize, I don't know why it is missing in your xorg.conf. Please add a variable DisplaySize to the "Monitor" section of your xorg.conf like in this example: Section "Monitor" Option "CalcAlgorithm" "XServerPool" DisplaySize 430 270 HorizSync 30-66 Identifier "Monitor[0]" ModelName "PHILIPS 200W" Option "DPMS" VendorName "PHILIPS" VertRefresh 30-61 UseModes "Modes[0]" EndSection The two values behind DisplaySize are the width and the height of your monitor in millimeters. If you set correct values there, you should get reasonable font sizes. On to of that, just to make sure (especially if you use Gnome applications), you may want to set the correct dpi of your display in the Gnome and KDE control centres. Calculate the correct dpi from the size of your display and the number of pixels. This did help because DisplaySize in xorg.conf was missing. If DisplaySize is missing, you get a default value for dpi, I think it is 75 dpi. The real dpi of your screen is probably much closer to 96 dpi than to 75 dpi, therefore this helped. If DisplaySize had been set correctly, this problem wouldn't have occured. And DisplaySize is set correctly by sax2 for most monitors.

I solved this problem using "DisplaySize 330 206" in my xorg.conf (because this value is missing)
If you want to have autodetection in the next openSUSE release, you should check if the problem re-appears when you run sax2 -r (save your xorg.conf before doing this). If yes, open a bug against component "SaX2" and attach at least hwinfo --monitor and /var/log/sax2.log there.
