The 2D acceleration works perfectly for my needs, but I'm not be able to have the compositing in Gnome and Kwin. Can I please have support to find out where is the issue? If both KDE and GNOME are affected, this is unlikely a problem in them.

Apologizes, I forgot about this bug report in the moment that I've fixed it. Some months ago I've updated to the last versions of xorg, mesa and of course radeon (the free one). Everything work fine!!! Just some flickering sometimes and flash animation are awful if Direct Rendering is enabled. In General the xorg free module is million times better then the proprietary one. The most important thing is to keep clean the libgl libraries between the uninstall/install phases.
