[Bug 911161] New: Screen goes blank when installing factory X86-64 DVD on PC linked to TV with HDMI.
http://bugzilla.suse.com/show_bug.cgi?id=911161 Bug ID: 911161 Summary: Screen goes blank when installing factory X86-64 DVD on PC linked to TV with HDMI. Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE Factory Version: 201412* Hardware: x86-64 OS: Other Status: NEW Severity: Major Priority: P5 - None Component: YaST2 Assignee: yast2-maintainers@suse.de Reporter: hacker@scarlet-jade.com QA Contact: jsrain@suse.com Found By: --- Blocker: --- Factory 64-bit DVD ISOs produce a blank screen at the stage when YaST is due to start on a PC with Radeon graphics linked to TV via HDMI. Only way to recover is by power-down/up. Prior to YaST starting, the display is OK. Installation using text appears to be possible although I did not go through the whole process. The latest installation to fail was "openSUSE-Tumbleweed-DVD-x86_64-Snapshot20141221-Media.iso". I've verified that the official openSUSE 13.2 DVD installs OK on the system. Installation of the factory DVD onto a laptop and also onto a different PC linked to TV/monitor by DVI works OK. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.

Please, attach YaST logs https://en.opensuse.org/openSUSE:Report_a_YaST_bug#Attachments_-_y2logs. 2C_hwinfo_etc.
As I said, YaST wasn't visible right from the start. I was therefore unable to initiate any actions involving YaST so no partitions could have been mounted nor any logs written. Sorry. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.
