[Bug 629567] New: kpackagekit: if there isn't a packagekit response *instantly*, the program doesn't work at all
http://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=629567 http://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=629567#c0 Summary: kpackagekit: if there isn't a packagekit response *instantly*, the program doesn't work at all Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 11.3 Version: Final Platform: Other OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: KDE4 Applications AssignedTo: kde-maintainers@suse.de ReportedBy: jnelson-suse@jamponi.net QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux x86_64; en-US; rv:1.9.2.8) Gecko/20100723 SUSE/3.6.8-0.1.1 Firefox/3.6.8 If you start up kpackagekit, and packagekit doesn't respond more or less instantly, the program (kpackagekit) displays an entirely blank window with some non-working buttons. If you kill it and start it again, it usually works. Seems like a packagekit problem. I'll note that even 'pkcon' behaves in a (fundamentally) similar way -- frequently 'pkcon <something>' will grump about failure to receive a reply from packagekit (almost instantly). Subsequent tries usually work. But as openSUSE 11.3 is no longer maintained, could you please tell if you can still reproduce the problem wit a later version (although kpackagekit was replaced with apper)? -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
