http://bugzilla.opensuse.org/show_bug.cgi?id=996543 Bug ID: 996543 Summary: suspend / resume leaves ThinkPad E335 unusable Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE Distribution Version: Leap 42.2 Hardware: x86-64 OS: openSUSE 42.1 Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Kernel Assignee: kernel-maintainers@forge.provo.novell.com Reporter: bwiedemann@suse.com QA Contact: qa-bugs@suse.de Found By: Development Blocker: --- I think, this was the same on 42.1 but still occurs on 42.2. On my ThinkPad E335 suspend+resume (using systemctl suspend) worked one time on 42.2 but most of the time it leaves the system with a black screen and no pings returned and even alt-sysrq-o/b does not react -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.

3.16 and 3.12 (based on SLE12 kernel) were as bad and the 3.11 kernel from 13.1 crashed very early in boot with the rootfs and initrd from 13.2
Maybe because of the ext2/3 merge into ext4.
so before giving up, I grabbed a 13.1 live-USB and indeed it resumed fine multiple times. So I could try to install a fresh 13.1 and bisect this.
Great, thanks! -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.
