[Bug 226945] New: totem does not require xulrunner at run-time
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=226945 Summary: totem does not require xulrunner at run-time Product: openSUSE 10.3 Version: unspecified Platform: All OS/Version: All Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: GNOME AssignedTo: bnc-team-gnome@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: andreas.hanke@gmx-topmail.de QAContact: qa@suse.de It seems that the fix of bug 216100 goes too far as far as it concerns totem. The situation is currently as follows: - The totem source package has "BuildRequires: mozilla-xulrunner181-devel" (which is correct). - The totem binary package has "Requires: mozilla-xulrunner181" (which is not correct, because the totem binary doesn't manipulate with xulrunner at runtime in any way). - The totem-plugin sub-package does not have any runtime dependencies on xulrunner (which is correct). Please remove the runtime "Requires" on xulrunner from totem.spec. It should really be removed (and not moved to the -plugin subpackage) because the plugin doesn't need xulrunner libraries at runtime either. It needs only the gecko headers to build and has a few unresolved symbols which will be resolved at runtime by "any" browser. (It is not even linked to xulrunner libraries - on purpose.) This is not a big problem because xulrunner is installed by default, but should be fixed anyway for the next release. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.

I overseen the fact, that in case of totem there is no reason to require xulrunner in runtime. The same problem affects mozilla-bonobo plugin. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.
